TESTIMONIALS

Your love inspires us, every minute. Inspirational Words Shared by Our Members

ASDAV's classes have empowered countless students to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical industry application.

Our community of passionate learners, where exploration knows no bounds.

Shavi Gupta

I am a practicing interior designer and when I got to know about their Vastu course, I immediately enrolled myself in it. They taught me practical Vastu and gave me several case studies to practice. I 100% recommend ASDAV’s Vastu course to everyone in the field.

Himanshi Rawat

Even though I studied design, I wasn’t confident with real interior designing tasks. At ASDAV, the trainers explained everything step by step. I built a complete portfolio with detailed floor plan, 3D views, and material palette. That portfolio helped me get my first interview.

Nikkita Bisht

I joined ASDAV’s masterclass because I wanted to design something that was accessible for everyone. The class taught me ramp gradient, turning radius, door clearance, and accessible bathrooms. I applied this to a community center project, and my client appreciated me a lot.

Aekeshwar Saxena

In practice, we are expected to design fast and think clearly, but college never really prepared me for that. ASDAV’s session helped me sharpen my decision making from site analysis to layout logic. It’s one of the few platforms that really understand how real-world architects work.

Jai Singh

Taking classes in ASDAV for Vastu has been a great experience. It wasn’t just about tradition, it’s about how spaces feel, how they function, how they can affect us. Even being a student in London, it has added a lot more depth to my approach.

NEED SOME HELP?

Here are some frequently asked questions

What does the 6-month interior design program cover?

It covers residential design, commercial design, and 3D visualisation in one course. You will learn design theory, AutoCAD drafting, space planning, colour, lighting, materials, kitchen and bathroom design, electrical layouts, retail, office, and hospitality design, SketchUp 3D modelling, and Lumion photorealistic rendering.

border line

Is the course divided into residential and commercial or is it combined?

Both. Weeks 1-12 focus on residential interiors and Weeks 13-18 focus on commercial spaces like offices, retail stores, and restaurants. Weeks 19-24 cover 3D visualisation and portfolio development that applies to both.

border line

Will I learn kitchen and bathroom design in this course?

Yes. Week 9 is entirely dedicated to kitchen and bathroom design, covering layout typologies, the work triangle, fixture placement, plumbing points, material selection, and a kitchen counter elevation in AutoCAD.

border line

Does the course cover electrical layout and ceiling design?

Yes. Week 10 covers electrical point planning (switches, sockets, AC, data points) and reflected ceiling plan (RCP) creation, including false ceiling zones, light fixture positions, and AC diffuser placement. Both are drawn in AutoCAD.

border line

Can I join this program if I have completed the 3-month residential or commercial course at ASDAV?

Yes. Both Residential and Commericial certificate holders enter at Week 9 and complete 16 remaining weeks. A bridge orientation session is provided before entry.

border line

Will I be able to work as an interior designer after this course?

Yes. Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles such as junior interior designer, design assistant, or entry-level 3D visualiser at residential and commercial design firms.

border line

Is this course enough to start freelancing in interior design?

The program gives you the skills to handle simple residential projects independently. You will have a portfolio with two complete projects, AutoCAD drawings, 3D models, and photorealistic renders to show potential clients.

border line

Do interior design firms actually hire candidates without a degree?

Yes. Most firms hire based on portfolio quality, software skills, and design thinking. This program gives you all three. Many practising designers in India have entered the field through certificate and short-term programs.

border line

Will this course help me if I am already working in architecture or real estate?

Absolutely. Architects gain interior-specific skills like material specification, lighting design, and FF&E planning. Real estate professionals learn how design increases property value and buyer appeal.

border line

Is the curriculum aligned with what Indian design firms expect?

Yes. The curriculum follows the design workflow used by practising firms in India. It includes site measurement, AutoCAD documentation, material selection for the Indian market, electrical planning with Indian standards, and budgeting in INR.

border line

What software will I learn in this program?

Four tools: AutoCAD for 2D technical drawings, Canva for mood boards and presentations, SketchUp for 3D interior modelling, and Lumion for photorealistic rendering and walkthrough animation.

border line

Do I need to buy AutoCAD or any other software separately?

No. AutoCAD is available free through the Autodesk Education Portal. SketchUp has a free web version. Lumion offers student licences. Canva is free. Setup guides are provided before each tool is introduced.

border line

Is Lumion hard to learn if I have never used 3D software before?

No. Lumion is one of the most beginner-friendly rendering tools available. In this program, it is introduced only after you have completed three weeks of SketchUp, so you arrive with 3D confidence. Most students produce their first photorealistic render within the first Lumion session.

border line

Do I need a high-end laptop for this course?

AutoCAD, Canva, and SketchUp run on most modern laptops with 8GB RAM. For Lumion, a dedicated NVIDIA graphics card with 4GB VRAM is recommended. A detailed specification guide is provided before enrolment.

border line

Are there assignments that require using these tools?

Yes, each module includes practice-based assignments where you’ll apply software skills to real design scenarios.

border line

Is this a theory-only course or will I work on real projects?

It is heavily project-driven. You will complete weekly hands-on assignments, measure a real room in your home, design complete kitchens and bathrooms, create electrical layouts, build 3D models, produce photorealistic renders, and deliver three capstone projects.

border line

Will I learn how to measure a real site and create drawings from it?

Yes. Week 5 includes a dedicated session on site measurement using a laser measure and measuring tape. You will measure a real room and create an as-built plan in AutoCAD from your own measurements.

border line

How many complete projects will I have for my portfolio?

At least two complete projects: one residential and one commercial. Each includes concept boards, AutoCAD drawings (plan, furniture, colour, lighting, electrical, RCP, materials, elevations), a 3D SketchUp model, and Lumion photorealistic renders.

border line

Does the course include case studies from real interior design projects?

Yes. Case studies of real residential and commercial projects are analysed throughout the course. Additionally, each typology week (retail, office, hospitality) includes analysis of real-world spaces to understand how design decisions serve business and user goals.

border line

Will I get faculty feedback on my work?

Yes. Every weekly assignment receives personalised feedback. Capstone projects include peer review and faculty critique sessions. The grand capstone in Week 24 is presented live to faculty for detailed evaluation.

border line

Do I need any prior knowledge of design or architecture to join?

No. The program starts from absolute basics. Week 1 explains what interior design is. Week 2 teaches design elements and principles. No prior design education, software skills, or creative background is required.

border line

Will I learn colour theory and how colours affect interiors?

Yes. Week 7 covers the colour wheel, colour schemes, colour psychology for both residential and commercial contexts, the 60-30-10 rule, neutral palettes, undertones, and how lighting changes colour appearance on different surfaces.

border line

Does the course include lighting design theory?

Definitely. You’ll explore ambient, task, and accent lighting, and how to use them effectively in different areas of a home.

border line

Is branding and concept development taught in this program?

Yes, we introduce green building principles and the use of sustainable materials for responsible residential design.

border line

Will I learn about space planning and how people use different rooms?

Yes. Space planning runs throughout the program. Week 3 covers anthropometry and residential zoning. Week 5 covers furniture dimensions and layout principles. Weeks 13-18 cover commercial space planning for co-working spaces, retail stores, offices, restaurants, and hotel lobbies.
